While many provinces planned to conclude the campaign by March 31, several are still compiling data and will continue with catch-up vaccinations in early April.
The measles vaccination campaign targeted 54 high-risk provinces and cities, focusing on children aged 6-9 months, 1-5 years, and 6-10 years.
Infants aged between 6 and 9 months receive one dose. Children aged 6-10 years who have not been vaccinated or have not completed the required doses receive one shot.
Meanwhile, children aged 1-5 years who have yet to complete their vaccine schedule are given an additional dose under the 2025 Expanded Immunisation Programme.
To ensure vaccine availability, the Ministry of Health secured an additional 500,000 doses on March 18. These were promptly distributed by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to provinces nationwide.
The Institute has also allocated vaccines under the national immunisation programme to ensure that children aged 1-5 years receive their required doses.
