Bac Giang fosters administrative reform to attract giant, high-tech projects
BAC GIANG- On April 2, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Thinh chaired a working session with the provincial Industrial Zones Authority on implementation of tasks in the first 3 months and the key tasks until the end of 2025.
In the first 3 months, the provincial Industrial Zones Authority (IZA) attracted 5 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with total registered capital of 12.5 million USD and 5 domestic direct investment (DDI) projects worth total some 12 trillion VND (466 million USD).

Besides, the authority gave a nod to adjust 47 projects including 18 projects approved to increase capital by 112.87 million USD. As a result, the total investment capital reached about 602.87 million USD, equivalent to 50.24 percent of the set target.
In the first quarter, the province was approved investment policy by Prime Minister for 5 industrial parks (IPs), increasing the total number to 16 IPs with over 3,680 hectares of land.
The province currently has 8 ongoing IPs and 8 others under administrative procedures and land clearance process.

At the meeting, the participants clarified some issues including investment promotion, administrative procedure reform, support investors in dealing with difficulties and worker recruitment as well as environment protection.
Concluding the meeting, the provincial Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh highly appreciated the active contributions of enterprises in the IPs for local socio-economic development and social security.
Besides, he urged the IZA to continue paying attention to administrative procedure reform and strengthening state management under its jurisdiction, especially efforts to combat origin fraud and tax evasion.
He added, it is necessary to foster investment promotion especially on-site investment, focusing on multinational corporations and high-tech manufacturers, which use less energy.
He requested IZA to accelerate land clearance for IPs’ infrastructure to meet investors’ demand while grasping difficulties and obstacles facing enterprises to seek timely solutions.
The provincial Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to work with departments and agencies in Bac Ninh province to ensure power supply for production development.

The Department of Construction was requested to build and complete connected traffic routes and traffic roads nearby the IPs to prevent congestion. It was also assigned to develop a plan to open free shuttle bus routes for workers.
The provincial Public Security Department was urged to strengthen inspection, closely grasp situation and strongly fight against those disrupting security and order in the IPs and surrounding areas.
The authorities need to facilitate effective and sustainable development of enterprises in the IPs, making positive contributions to socio-economic growth of the locality.
