BAC GIANG - According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA), since the beginning of the year, Bac Giang province has sent more than 300 workers to work in the Republic of Korea (RoK) under the Employment Permit System (a program granting permits to foreign workers of the RoK’s Government), equivalent to the results of the same period in 2023.

These workers are mainly from the districts of Son Dong, Luc Nam, Lang Giang, and Yen Dung.

Health check-up for Bac Giang workers applying to work in RoK under the EPS Program (manufacturing - construction industry).

For the first 8 months of the year, the DOLISA and the Provincial Employment Service Center have guided and received 504 applications of workers who passed 2 rounds of Korean language test and capacity assessment for labor export (manufacturing - construction and agriculture) under the EPS Program.

According to regulations, these applications will be transferred by the DOLISA to the Overseas Labor Center (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) for Korean enterprises to select qualified candidates.

Currently, Bac Giang has about 2,000 workers working in RoK with an average income of 25 million VND (1,082 USD) per person per month.

To maintain the stability of this prestigious market, the DOLISA has directed specialized departments to closely coordinate with related sectors, districts, township and city to promote propaganda work, raise awareness for workers, minimize illegal residence after the contract expires; strictly handle violations according to the law.

At the same time, the labor sector increases support for people from poor and near-poor households to access vocational training policies and preferential loans for labor export under the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction.
