NA Chairman underscores equity in education

More attention should be attached to developing education and training, ensuring equity in education so that no one is left behind, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue made the statement on September 3 while attending the inauguration and handing over of Ky Son High School, in the Central province of Nghe An and welcoming the 2022-2023 school year.

According to NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, the National Assembly Standing Committee will organise supervision on the implementation of renovation of general education curricula and textbooks in 2023, to promptly review and remove obstacles and ensure all objectives set by the Party and the National Assembly have been fully and qualitatively implemented.

The top legislator reiterated President Ho Chi Minh’s Thought on education and training; affirming that the Party and State always attach special importance to education and training, considering this as the top national policy; always give the best to take care of the cause of education, ensuring that all students, whether in the plains or the mountains, border areas, islands, everyone has access to education fairly and equally.

He expressed his expectation and belief that the students would promote the tradition of studiousness and study well for the people of Nghe An, striving harder to contribute to the Fatherland in the future.

On this occasion, NA Chairman Hue proposed that the Party committees, authorities, and education sector pay special attention to directing the building of school culture adding that all levels, branches, and communities need to make more efforts to develop the education and training sector.

Ky Son High School must be the model of the province in building a school culture associated with innovation, improving teaching and learning quality; at the same time, focus on building and piloting a model of a new-style semi-boarding high school for ethnic minorities in association with building a school cultural value system with characteristics of the Ky Son highland region, he noted.

Bac Giang invests nearly 313 billion VND to education in ethnic minority and mountainous areas
