National Action Programme for Children in 2021-2030 period approved

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the National Action Programme for Children for the 2021-2030 period with a view to creating a safer, healthier and more friendly environment for children.

The programme contains four comprehensive targets to ensure children’s nutrition, healthcare, education, recreation and participation, with 24 specific indicators. It includes tasks and solutions for legal and policy building, children’s rights, social welfare and child protection.

The programme also specifies implementation tasks and solutions such as: Strengthening direction, guidance and coordination among ministries, branches and localities in the implementation of the Programme’s objectives and targets; perfecting laws and policies to ensure the realisation of children’s rights and remedying children’s issues; developing a service system that responds to the realisation of children’s rights, integrating and coordinating health, education, justice and social security services; giving priority to the child protective service system; enhancing communication and education on the knowledge and skills necessary regarding children’s rights and obligations; mobilising the whole society to achieve goals and targets related to children as well as solving children’s issues; ensuring resources for the realisation of children’s rights and goals and targets related to children; giving priority to allocating resources for child protection; strengthening inspection and supervision; and building a database to monitor and evaluate the implementation of laws, policies, programmes, goals, and targets regarding children, among others.
