Ninh Binh launches 2025 Tourism Week themed "The golden colour of Tam Coc – Trang An"

Updated: 18:17, 24/05/2025

On May 23, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh Province held the opening ceremony of the 2025 Ninh Binh Tourism Week in the Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourist area, under the theme “The golden colour of Tam Coc – Trang An”.

In his opening remarks, Tran Song Tung, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organising Committee, emphasised that Tam Coc’s rice fields had once been named by travel site Business Insider as one of the five most beautiful rice fields in Viet Nam.

The rice fields of Tam Coc transformed into a rice artwork titled "Carp Leaping over the Dragon Gate".

This is a land where the sacred spirit of mountains and rivers converges, and with its kind and hospitable people, it has always been a destination of longing and return, an endless source of inspiration for labour, art, poetry, photography, and cinema.

At the opening ceremony, thousands of delegates and visitors immersed themselves in the unique cultural space with traditional rituals performed along the Ngo Dong River, including a ceremonial flag procession, the presentation of regional specialities from across the country, and gong performances.

Of particular note was the live performance themed “The golden colour of Tam Coc – The scent of the land and warmth of the people”, which was held on a natural stage set alongside the rice artwork titled "Carp Leaping over the Dragon Gate".

The event offered the public and tourists a truly memorable experience. The artistic dance and music performances, blending traditional and contemporary elements, celebrated the beauty of nature and rural life, highlighting the tranquil countryside steeped in millennia of cultural and historical value.

The 2025 Ninh Binh Tourism Week features a rich programme of cultural, artistic and tourism-related events. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy diverse experiences that reflect the unique identity of the province, including admiring the rice field recreated as the artwork "Carp Leaping over the Dragon Gate", participating in traditional wet rice farming, and observing demonstrations and displays of traditional handicrafts and OCOP products from localities, all within a deeply meaningful and educational craft village setting.

Other activities include photography tours themed “Golden Season in Tam Coc”; site surveys and tourism product showcases in Ninh Binh; art photo exhibitions; and traditional performing arts including water puppetry, cheo and xam singing, and folk songs from the three regions.

The schedule also offers a host of unique cultural, tourism, sports, culinary, and community engagement events, as well as the innovative Trang An – Forestival music festival.

The occasion serves to honour the extraordinary natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Ninh Binh, while promoting its image to visitors from near and far. It contributes to boosting tourism and affirms Ninh Binh’s position on both the national and international tourism map.
