Nguyen Luy, Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial Sponsor Association for the disabled and orphans receives the donation from the kind-hearted people.

Currently, Bac Giang is home to some 28,000 disabled people and orphans, mostly residing at the rural and mountainous areas under extremely difficult conditions; hence being thirsty for the community help.

The local authority, social organizations, business associations and philanthropists have paid due attention to sponsoring the disadvantaged, orphans and difficult families for years.

Since 2006, the SADO has acted as a bridge to link the humanitarian organizations and kind-hearted people to present 5,216 wheelchairs to the disabled locals with a total value of about 10 billion VND (437,600 USD); 360 bicycles to the orphan and poor students worth 612 million VND (26,700 USD) while performing lens surgery to 400 poor people with the total amount of 240 million VND (10,500 USD).

The “third humanitarian heart” Gala show is an annual event to be held on the occasion of the Vietnam Disabled Day and Action Month for the Children. The organization board received many donations from the local enterprises, individuals and agencies, total worth over 200 million VND (8,800 USD), including 80 million VND (3,500 USD) donated by Vietnam Sponsor Association for the Disabled and Orphans, 20 million VND (875 USD) by Venerable Tu tuc Vinh, Head of Bo Da pagoda while Bac Giang Lottery Company Limited, Tuan Mai Trading Joint Stock Company, Hiep Hoa district People’s Committee, Bac Giang municipal People’s Committee and the High Command of Army Corps 2 each donated 10 million VND (438 USD) among others.

The organization board presents the bicycles to the orphan students donated by Tam Thien Nguyen group in Son Dong district.

The organization board took to the occasion to present 10 bicycles to the orphans and poor students with excellent academic results and 10 gift sets (each worth 500,000 VND – 22 USD) to the families of disabled or poor households.
