Online Friday 2020 to promote Vietnamese goods

The Organising Committee of Online Friday held a conference in Hanoi on January 17 to review the Online Friday 2019 as well as announce the implementation plan for 2020.

At the event, a nationwide programme kicked off titled ‘Every Friday’ prioritising goods that are sourced from Vietnam.

The programme will start from Friday online at www.onlinefriday.vn and application Online Friday, downloaded from the iOS and Android.

According to the Vietnam eCommerce and Digital Economy Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Online Friday 2019 brought together many e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Tiki, Sendo, Voso and Sanhangre; and manufacturers such as Oppo, Habeco, Fahasa; and other distributors.

Companies in the fields of payment infrastructure, delivery and product origin verification and price comparison systems were also involved.

Some 50,000 items from more than 1,000 brands were launched with discounted prices up to 70%.

The number of orders on the system of e-commerce and social networks reached over 3 million, an increase of 67% compared to 2018.

Online Friday 2019 supports sales through e-voucher
Vietnam’s top e-commerce shopping event, Online Friday 2019, will for the first time help businesses sell goods through e-voucher systems, enhancing shopping experiences for customers.
Import licences to be granted online from November 1
Companies will be able to apply for import licences online from November 1 this year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT)’s Foreign Trade Agency.

Hanoi Railway launches online payment service
The Hanoi Railway Transport JSC (HARACO) and e-wallet and online payment gateway NganLuong.vn signed an agreement on August 6 to offer online booking and payment services for railway tickets.
