Tran Van Hanh in Chao Cu village, Giap Son commune said: “In lychee season this year, my family cultivated 1 hectare of organic lychee. All of caring procedure was put under strict supervision with camera to monitor the orchards so the customers can be comfort in using the fruits”.
Besides lychees, more than 9 hectares of organic tea cultivation in Canh Nau and Xuan Luong communes (Yen The district) were distinguish and more effective than the one developed under traditional method. The households used organic bio-fertilisers and bio plant protection products to care for the tea. Thanks to the appropriate application of technical procedure, the tea yielded 450 kilogram of dried tea per hectare per harvest on average.
In the field of animal husbandry, only pork of Truong Thanh Cooperative in Danh Thang commune (Hiep Hoa district) is recognized as organic product in the province. When the African Swine Fever situation remains complicated and causes huge damage to the animal breeding sector, the Cooperative still operates stably with normal breeding.

Everyday, the Cooperative sells about 1 – 1.5 tonnes of products with high and stable selling price. Apart from provincial market, the Cooperative has supplied to several provinces of Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Hanoi city.
Prioritise key products
The organic product has both economic effectiveness and advantages for environment and human’s health. According to several tea growers in Xuan Luong commune, when applying organic cultivation procedure, no chemical plant protection products were used which meant that the farmers do not have to expose to harmful chemicals.
Duong Thanh Tung, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said the commodity agriculture production has dramatically boosted up the productivity of the crop and animal husbandry for recent years. However, it caused bad consequences. Thus, organic farming production is an inevitable trend.

To satisfy the actual demand, the provincial agriculture sector accurately assessed the real situation to prepare the project of organic agriculture production in Bac Giang province basing on the Government’s Decree on organic agriculture dated on August 29, 2018.
Accordingly, the provincial organic farming will follow certain schedule. Firstly, the farmers should be trained to have deeper understanding about the procedure such as new method of cultivation with application of advanced technologies.
Then, the priority must be taken to the key products of tea, meat, vegetable while drawing the leading enterprises with potential in organic agriculture like Que Lam Organic Fertilizer Corporation (Vinh Phuc province), NHO Organic Company (Hanoi) to link with local farmers in production.
The districts and city are eager to implementing organic agriculture. Particularly, Viet Yen district defined to revamp the soil first and encourage the farmers not to use chemical fertilizers to care for the crops. To realize the target, the district took use of the available advantages to treat the waste from animal husbandry at the big farms to bio products then manure to the plants.
Additionally, Viet Yen district prioritizes to apply the science and technology into agriculture development. After successfully piloting to use the drone to spray the plant protection product in Quang Minh commune, in the upcoming time the locality will support the cooperatives to use the vehicle to manure the organic fertilizer and bio product on a big organic cultivation area.
Besides, Yen The and Luc Ngan districts are planning to maintain and expand the models of organic tea and lychee cultivation in the coming crops.
