Overseas Vietnamese businesses in Thailand seek investment opportunities in Bac Giang

(BGO)- The provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province on July 10 received the delegation of overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Thailand seeking investment opportunities in the province. The delegation was headed by Phan Chi Thanh, Vietnam’s ambassador to Thailand. 

They were welcomed by permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan The Tuan and representatives of some related departments, agencies and the provincial Business Association.

The provincial permanent Vice Chairman Mai Son briefed the delegates on some outstanding socio-economic achievements of the province. He stressed, there are 2 projects of Thai investors in Bac Giang province with total registered investment of 12.8 million USD.

Bac Giang is open to invite and commit to provide the most favourable conditions for Thai investors and partners to carry out survey, invest and cooperate in producing and trading farm produce.

Besides, he requested Vietnam’s Embassy to Thailand and overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Thailand to pay attention and support Bac Giang province to boost trade and investment promotion activities in different sectors especially processing lychee and Bac Giang’s key products to penetrate Thai market. In addition, the provincial permanent Vice Chairman expected to receive support in connecting to experienced businesses and partners with high technologies and advantages in agro-forestry processing and promoting the province’s potentials, advantages and preferential policies for investment attraction and trade development.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh said, this was the first time Vietnam’s Embassy to Thailand organized a delegation with a large number of overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs to return the home country for investment, trade and tourism promotion with the localities to link up overseas Vietnamese with their homeland and seek for partners.

The ambassador requested the People’s Committee of Bac Giang province to pay attention and provide mechanism and policies in investment, trade and tourism promotion and organize a working delegation of the province to Thailand for investment, trade and tourism promotion in earliest time. Besides, the province should introduce overseas Vietnamese businesses about incentive policies for investment, trade and tourism as well as the projects calling for investment from overseas Vietnamese enterprises in Thailand.

The provincial Business Association and Thailand-Vietnam Business Association should discuss to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for long-term relations. Businesses of the both sides should actively talk to each other about their potentials, advantages and needs for cooperation to boost export of Vietnamese high-quality products to Thailand, aiming to establish distribution networks for Vietnamese goods in Thailand and Thai products in Bac Giang.

Within the working visit to Bac Giang, the ambassador and the delegation of overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs in Thailand visited Vinh Nghiem pagoda in Yen Dung district and the lychee orchard in Luc Ngan district.
