Party and State leaders salute Vietnamese heroic mothers and wounded soldiers

The recipients included Vietnamese heroic mother Le Thi Cach, wounded soldier Tran Cong Hieu, war veteran Dinh Cong Dac and lieutenant general and former Defence Deputy Minister Phan Trung Kien, among others.
On the same day, Politburo member Nhan visited the officers, doctors and soldiers who are prepared to join the United Nations’ peace keeping mission and staff of Ho Chi Minh City-based Military Hospital 175.
Also yesterday, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh saluted and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mother Trinh Thi Vat and 30 policy beneficiaries in Duc Hoa district, Long An province.
Speaking at the function, she asked sectors and local authorities to provide better care for national contributors in order to improve their mental and spiritual lives.
An art programme was held on the evening of July 24 by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education and Vietnam Television.
During the event, the organising board presented saving books worth VND 500 million in total to Vietnamese heroic mothers, families of wounded soldiers and victims of Agent Orange/ Dioxin, as well as poor students in Hoan Kiem and Dong Anh districts of Hanoi and Chi Linh district of Hai Duong province.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day of Vietnam (July 27, 1947), meetings were held in Da Nang city, and Phu Tho, Nghe An, Lang Son, Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue and Ha Giang provinces in remembrance of the services of Vietnamese heroic mothers and fallen soldiers in the localities, while honouring the outstanding individuals and collectives who have contributed to the care of policy beneficiaries.
