Playground created to Bac Giang’s children
The children playgrounds in Cau Xi and Trai Moi villages, Ngoc Chau commune (Tan Yen district) were completed ahead the schedule thanks to the support from numerous local youths. All 8 swings and 4 see saws were installed at the village center.

These two localities are far away from school which built cultural house but yet to have space, area and toys for children. On the summer vacation, many kids just stay at home and watch TV while others face high risk of accident when playing near the canals and ponds.
After surveying the situation, the Secretary of Ngoc Chau communal Youth Union Giap Thi Hue proposed the Executive Board of the communal Youth Union to call for donations and support from the local youth members and kind-hearted people.
The materials of iron and wood were donated by the youth members who own the mechanical and carpentry workshops. The communal Youth Union mobilized the members to join hands to pour the concrete to make the yard and install the equipment. Since the playground was completed, the vibrant and happy atmosphere has regularly been at Cau Xi cultural houses in every late afternoon.
Not only in Ngoc Chau commune, the province has built 64 playgrounds for children in the residential areas with total construction cost of 900 million VND (38,676 USD) donated and supported by the youth members and kind hearted people since 2019, typically in Bac Giang city and the districts of Tan Yen, Hiep Hoa, Luc Ngan and Son Dong...
The construction of playground for children by the provincial Youth Union was voted by the Center Youth Union as one of 50 youth projects following Uncle Ho. With the residential area far away from the center, the playground promotes its effectiveness to draw numerous children to come to enjoy.
To handle the lack of playground for children in several locations, the youth union boldly suggested to realize the project and task with the local authority to take advantage of the sponsor source. Besides, the youth members actively called for more donation of expenses and materials from the enterprises, organizations and individuals.
At the same time, all levels of youth union mobilized the volunteers to organize several class to teach the life skill to the children at the residential areas such as Military semester, studying at the craft village, farming experience...
For recent 5 years, the Bac Giang municipal Youth Union has coordinated with the military units to organize the military semester to hundreds of students and children with the age ranging from 6 – 15. Joining the semester, they are provided with chance of entertain, health practice, self independence and knowledge about the traditional history of Vietnam People’s Army.

Meanwhile in Tan Yen, Viet Yen or Lang Giang districts, some youth chapters maintain 5 to 7 swimming courses to children. Besides, all levels of youth union sponsor the children with difficult circumstances. Each unit selects one or three cases to present monthly scholarship worth 200 – 500,000 VND, bicycle and studying tools. Thus, the province handed over 73 bicycles, nearly 500 notebooks and books, studying tools and sponsored 75 cases in 2019.
According to the Secretary of the provincial Youth Union Nguy Van Tuyen: “This year, due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic, all levels of youth union will base on the actual situation to timely change the operation orientation with more suitable content and method. Firstly, the provincial Youth Union and the Pioneer Organization will instruct the lower units to organize many courses to teach swimming skill, prevent child sexual abuse and accident at the extracurricular activities”.
