Japanese corporations affirmed that Vietnam is a prime base for Japan. In the coming time, artificial intelligence will be a crucial factor in the semiconductor industry and research and development activities. Businesses were all interested in the vision of developing Vietnam's semiconductor industry, preferential policies of the Vietnamese Government for foreign investors in this field and learning about Vietnam's strengths in this field, especially human resources.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh clearly stated the importance of Japanese corporations and businesses in economic cooperation and investment between the two countries, especially Japanese enterprises willing to transfer technology to Vietnam. The problem is how Vietnam will meet the requirements of Japanese businesses. The Prime Minister said that Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio once emphasised that cooperation with Vietnam has no limitations.
He stressed that Vietnam is developing priority policies for emerging industries, including semiconductors. The Government has assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to develop this policy, which gives priority to large corporations to invest, transfer technology, and create conditions for Vietnamese businesses to participate in the global supply chain, which includes tax and land priority, along with strengthening the training of engineers on semiconductors.
Vietnam will make efforts to improve the investment environment, the PM said, adding that this year, despite difficult world conditions, Vietnam is still a bright spot in attracting FDI investment, wanting to develop breakthroughs in the semiconductor industry.
The Government leader added that Vietnam is researching ways to organise and gather global semiconductor forces and corporations to invest in Vietnam and cooperate equally with major partners to create an ecosystem in this field and actively develop and implement a green and circular economy.
