Border guard forces have risen above many difficulties to fulfil the tasks assigned them by the Party and people, effectively combating all types of crime, maintaining political security and social order and safety, properly implementing border diplomacy, promptly dealing with troublesome cases across border regions, and building a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development, he stated.
The PM lauded the border guard forces’ leading role in coping with natural disasters and the epidemic as well as in salvage and rescue work, emphasising that they have successfully realised the dual goal of both ensuring security, order and safety in border areas and effectively preventing the COVID-19 pandemic from spreading across borders, contributing to protecting the health and lives of the people.
In the near future, PM Phuc urged border guard forces to strengthen communication among fishermen against illegal fishing; ensure Tet celebrations for officers, soldiers and people in border regions; and effectively implement border diplomacy to protect borders from threats near and far as well as to avoid being unprepared for unexpected situations.
He stressed the need for the Ministry of Defence and border guard forces to modernise border protection equipment, install camera systems to help detect illegal border trespass, and mobilise resources to solidify border inspection checkpoints.
On the occasion, PM Phuc presented gifts to border stations and checkpoints.
