The project is being jointly executed by the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre and two US firms - CyArk and Seagate Technology.
Under the project, CyArk conducted aerial surveys by unmanned aircraft drones, took laser scans and made field observations at the Tu Duc Tomb and An Dinh Palace.
All of the collected data and images will then be digitalized into photo-real 3D models and architectural drawings to help the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre enhance the efficiency and accuracy of its research, conservation and document archives of the sites.
Seagate and CyArk will support each other in conducting field trips and at the office with their data-storage solutions.
The project not only utilizes advanced technology in the management and conservation of the heritage but also helps to promote the cultural values of the complex to people, especially younger people, thus calling on them to safeguard the national cultural heritage sites.
