Provincial leader meets with overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs in RoK
At the meeting, representative of the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs briefed the guests on the outstanding socio-economic development achievements of Bac Giang province so far. Currently, the province’s GRDP scale ranks 15th out of 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam with more than 6 billion USD. The economic structure has been transformed with sharp increase in industrial proportion.

The import and export activities between Bac Giang province and RoK became more robust. Particularly, the import and export turnover of Bac Giang with Korean market reached 9.1 billion USD in 2021 and 11.1 billion USD in the 10 months of 2022.
There are about 1,700 labourers from Bac Giang working in RoK under EPS programme. At present, the enterprises in Bac Giang province employ more than 1,200 Korean workers.

He also offered the Vietnamese Business Association in RoK some recommendations. Particularly, Bac Giang province expected the association to support it to boost export of fresh lychee, products from lychee and other key farm produce of the province to Korean market in 2022 and coming years.
Besides, the association was requested to introduce and connect firms and partners having experience, technology and strength in agro-forestry processing to seek for investment and trading in Bac Giang province.

The representative of Bac Giang province requested the working delegation to help the province’s labourers to be trained to improve their skills through technology transfer programmes to serve both Vietnamese and Korean enterprises and give them opportunities to take part in job-based training programmes and experience exchange programmes of both countries based on cooperation for mutual development.
On behalf of the delegation, Ta Dao Binh thanked the provincial leaders for their warm welcome and he hoped that the Vietnamese Business Association in RoK would become a bridge to support and connect Vietnamese businesspersons in RoK and RoK’s enterprises working in the field of farm produce import and export so that they could seek cooperation opportunities to purchase and import potential farm produce and OCOP products of Bac Giang province.

Besides, they will help to provide market information, import regulations, standards and technical barriers of Korean market for farm products.
Regarding cooperation in labour export, the association expected to act as a bridge to bring more labourers from the province to work in RoK.
