Quan ho performance skills taught to over 250 artisans and members
The programme attracted more than 250 artisans and members of the ancient Quan ho villages and Quan ho singing clubs from the districts of Viet Yen, Tan Yen, Lang Giang, Yen Dung, Hiep Hoa and Bac Giang city.

At the training programme, the People’s Artist Thuy Huong, former chief of the Office of Vietnam Stage Artists Association, who are experienced in protecting and practicing the heritage, taught the participants the singing skills of the Quan ho song “"Ăn ở trong rừng" (Living in the forest).
Besides, she shared her experience in Quan ho performance for years.
The participants also had opportunity to enjoy the old-lyric Quan ho performance by the People’s Artisan Phu Hiep in Van Ha commune (Viet Yen district).
Quan ho singing in northern provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh was recognized as an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO in 2009. Over the past 14 years, Bac Giang province has made great efforts in preserving and promoting the heritage value with numerous practical activities.
Quan ho singing has been developed not only in Viet Yen district- the center of Quan ho singing in northern side of Cau River but it has been also widely spread and practiced in other districts and city in Bac Giang province.
From 18 ancient Quan ho villages, 5 of which were nominated by UNESCO, and 5 Quan ho singing clubs in 2009, Bac Giang currently has more than tens of Quan ho singing clubs with thousands of members and hundreds of artisans who are able to teach the heritage to the descendants.
