RoK firms present scholarships to poor students in Binh Duong

The Republic of Korea Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM) presented 241 scholarships totaling about 600 million VND (25,800 USD) to poor students in the southern province of Binh Duong on October 19.

Addressing the awarding ceremony, Dang Minh Dung, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong said that over the past years, KOCHAM and RoK-invested enterprises have demonstrated strong social responsibilities, contributing to ensuring social security in the province.

Disadvantaged students in Binh Duong are presented with scholarships by KOCHAM on October 19 (Source: baobinhduong.vn).

He said he hopes that the recipients of the scholarships will exert more efforts in studying, and expressed his wish that RoK businesses will continue assisting the needy in the locality.

So far, KOCHAM has provided over 5 billion VND to social activities in Binh Duong, including gifts to locals on the occasion of the traditional New Year and building houses for the poor.

Especially, in the past three years, the RoK businesses in Binh Duong have also presented nearly 1,000 scholarships worth 2.3 billion VND to local poor students with excellent academic performance, making this an annual activity in the province.

Deputy PM presents gifts, scholarships to poor families, students
Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and a delegation from the Government Office have recently presented 50 houses worth 3.5 billion VND (150,500 USD) and a number of scholarships to poor households and students in border communes of Tan Bien district, the southern province of Tay Ninh.
 
9 Bac Giang’s students awarded Vallet scholarship in 2018
(BGO) – 9 students from the northern province of Bac Giang have been awarded Vallet scholarship in the academic year 2018 in Hanoi Opera House, namely Trinh Duy Hieu, Ly Thi Kieu Diem, Nguyen Dinh Hai, Tran Dinh Quoc Bao, Giap Thi Thu Thao, Nguyen Dieu Linh (Bac Giang Highschool for Gifted Students); Ngo Duy Khanh, Nguyen Tuan Anh and Luu Toan Thang (Ngo Si Lien Highschool in Bac Giang city).
 
Nearly 500 Vallet scholarships granted to Vietnamese students
Close to 500 Vallet scholarships worth 10 million VND (428.39 USD) each were presented to outstanding students from 58 high schools and six SOS villages in the north on August 23.
 
About 1,000 scholarships to be presented to poor children
As many as 1,000 scholarships and 3,000 gifts will be presented to poor children in areas with extreme natural conditions or suffered from natural disaster and flood of seven central localities.
 
Vu A Dinh scholarships presented to excellent ethnic students
The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund presented scholarships to 15 outstanding ethnic students nationwide, who had excellent academic performance during 2017-2018 academic year, at a ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 16.
