Rok to recruit 1,000 skilled Vietnamese workers in welding and mould-making

Updated: 16:22, 06/04/2025

Vietnam’s Centre of Overseas Labour (Colab), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has announced the recruitment of 1,000 skilled workers to work in the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s manufacturing sector under the 2025 Employment Permit System (EPS).

The programme focuses on candidates with welding and mould-making skills, with applications open until April 13, 2025.

Vietnamese workers sent to RoK.

Out of the total, 700 positions are for welders and 300 for mould-making technicians. Eligible candidates include current vocational students, recently discharged military personnel using vocational training support, and experienced workers in related fields.

Applicants must be between 18 and 39 years old, have no criminal record, and meet the health standards required by RoK. They must not have stayed in RoK for more than five years under E9 or E10 visas and should not be under an exit ban.

The selection process consists of two rounds: document screening and interviews. Successful candidates will undergo three months of training (120 hours in vocational skills and 300 hours in Korean language) in Hanoi or Nghe An. The final selection includes skills tests and Korean language assessments conducted by HRD Korea.

Only those scoring 120/200 or higher in the skill test and interview, and 90/200 or higher in the Korean language test, will be eligible for placement with Korean employers.

Training fees range from 7–10 million VND per person, depending on the occupation.

Since 2004, over 140,000 Vietnamese workers have gone to Korea under the EPS programme. The initiative is implemented through a memorandum of understanding between Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs and RoK’s Ministry of Employment and Labour.
