Labor export targets high-income markets

Updated: 16:09, 04/03/2025

BAC GIANG – Thanks to synchronous direction and participation, the policies on labor export have been popularized to a large number of people in working age in Bac Giang province, thereby, effectively solving employment problems and helping increase income.

Targeting high income market

Bac Giang province currently has more than 16,000 people working abroad under labor contracts.

In recent years, in addition to traditional markets such as Taiwan (China) and Malaysia, workers have shifted to choosing some prestigious, high-income markets such as Japan, South Korea and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Currently, the average income of workers working abroad is from 22-25 million VND (around 1,000 USD) per person per month.

Most of the Bac Giang laborers who came to Republic of Korea under the Employment Permit System (programme grants work permits to foreign workers under the provisions of the Korean Employment Law) have stable jobs, high incomes, and significantly improved quality of life.

Typically, Dang Van Cuong (born in 1994) in Tan Dinh commune (Lang Giang district) went to work abroad in early June 2024. Up to now, his life and work (installing electrical equipment) have been stable. Every month, after deducting expenses, he sends his family nearly 40 million VND.

The family of Nguyen Van Quy (born in 1990) in Chan village, Yen Son commune (Luc Nam district) is poor. After getting married, he wanted to go abroad to work to improve his life. Being skilled in construction, healthy, agile and hard-working, he researched and chose Japanese market.

Through a licensed recruitment company, Quy applied, underwent a thorough Japanese language course, physical examination, vocational skills test and departed to work in Japan in early 2023.

According to his family, he receives monthly support for rent, electricity and water and a shuttle bus to work every day. After deducting living expenses, he now can save about 35 million VND per month to send back to his family.

Focusing on consulting and skills training

In 2024, the whole province had more than 33,100 people with new jobs, reaching 103% of the annual plan; of which, more than 2,600 people worked abroad, exceeding 48% of the plan.

Grasping the recruitment trends and labor needs, labor export enterprises pay special attention to training. Nguyen Xuan Canh, Head of Recruitment Department, International Joint Stock Company - TIC (Bac Giang Office), headquartered in Bac Giang city said systematic training not only meets the requirements of receiving enterprises but also helps laborers equip themselves with professional skills, industrial style, and labor discipline.

These are important conditions to help them have good job opportunities and high income when returning home.

Determining that labor export is still an important solution in solving employment and increasing income for people, all levels, sectors and localities continue to promote propaganda about labor export orientation; provide information on cooperation programs in recruiting and licensing Vietnamese laborers to work abroad.

In addition to communicate and raise awareness among laborers, the sectors and localities also strengthen management of overseas employment activities by service enterprises; step up inspection and examination, promptly detect and handle violations according to their authority.
