Rose gardens loved by "Ten thousand people"
Living in harmony with flowers
From the San street crossroads, everyone knows the family of Trung-Som who have a large-scale flower garden. Three years ago, their lychee garden became so old and stunted that it had to be replaced.

The husband loves orchids while his wife likes roses. Both love life in harmony with nature, so the idea of converting the whole lychee garden of 1 hectare into the flower one was realized quickly. The couple worked hard day and night to break ground and plant each tree.
In the initial time, Som went to Me Linh (Hanoi) to buy breeding flower plants. She was not afraid of long distance and managed to buy any strange roses she heard of.
Soon, the garden had thousands of trees, with more than 100 species, including ancient rose varieties such as: Sa Pa, Hai Phong, Tuong Vi and Van Khoi... Many foreign varieties are also grown here with beautiful names like Julio, Blue Sky, Red Eden and Juliet...
The owner of the garden excitedly introduced the strange rose tree of about 1.2m high, which was created from 5 kinds of flowers. She chose the briar root of the rose family and grafted the flower eyes to create a tree with different colors.
Caring roses is as busy as raising children, every day they work in the garden. Som and her husband regularly observe the weather and outdoor temperature to adjust the caring regime.
Now, the flower garden of Som's family has great economic value. Depending on the color, the age or beauty, the price of each tree ranges from several tens of thousands to several millions of dong. Just sitting at home, she still deals with customers all over the country. Each year, roses bring several hundreds of millions of dong in revenue for the family.
"Witch" of flowers
Boasting more than one decade of growing flowers and being well known for a farm of Nhat Tan peach, orchids and many kinds of ornamental plants, Ho Viet Hoa in Dinh village, Lien Son commune (Tan Yen district) is called the "witch" of flowers by many gardeners.

Owning thousands of flowers and fruit trees of all kinds, he thoroughly understands the rules of growth of each species. In particular, he can "force" the trees flowering in the right time at his discretion.
He cheerfully said: "If you come here near Tet (Lunar New Year), I will let you admire the rose trees grafted from many different species and I will force them to show off at the same time."
According to the owner of the farm, from October to the Lunar New Year, the hills are covered with pink, white and red roses. There are times when hundreds of tourists come to see flowers and many couples choose the rose hills as locations for wedding filming and photo-taking.
Coming to the largest rose tree in the farm, he introduced it as Van Khoi rose (Bulgarian origin), with its trunk as large as an adult wrist, rough bark as peach root, thick white petals, and mild scent.
The over 50-year-old plant was bought by Hoa from a "playboy" in Ha Nam a few years ago. Its branches spread more than 4 meters and its trunk is 5 meters high, with thousands of white flowers. A few months ago someone came to pay 300 million VND (12,875 USD) but he did not sell.
Visitors from all regions visited the farm and were provided with seedlings and advice on caring techniques, and saw initial success. Someone once said rose lovers are often optimistic, have faith in life, a simple lifestyle in harmony with nature, love labor and know how to slow down their life when needed, simply to satisfy their passion for growing the plants they like and contemplate the flowers blooming. That's not wrong for the owners of these two rose gardens.
