Site clearance for Bac Giang golf course and resort project: A good start to ensure progress

(BGO) - Despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Luc Nam district still focuses highly on the site clearance for a project to build the Bac Giang golf course and resort with a determination to ensure the scheduled progress.

Selecting models to replicate

Although it was the 29th day of the last lunar month in the Year of the Rat, the cultural house in Mau Son village, Chu Dien commune was still crowded with people to receive site clearance compensation for the Bac Giang golf course and resort project. Nguyen Van Tu from Mau Son village excitedly said: “My family had more than 5,000sq.m of production forest land that was subjected to land clearance. I receive about 800 million VND (34,830 USD) in compensation from the State. With this money, I will invest in economic development”.

The Bac Giang golf and resort project will be carried out on the mountains of Yen Son, Kham Lang and Chu Dien communes (Luc Nam).

Mau Son is the village with the largest area for site clearance in Chu Dien commune, with nearly 100 hectares. Therefore, the district Party Committee and People's Committee chose Mau Son as the model for other villages to follow.

During the process from planning to compensation for site clearance, the Party committees and authorities from the district to the grassroots level have actively supported and coordinated with the investor in order to promptly remove arising difficulties and problems,” said Nguyen Thai Uoc, Project Director at Truong An Golf Joint Stock Company.

Site clearance in Mau Son so far has been quite favorable, ensuring the proposed plan. Currently, about 80 percent of households in the village have received compensation for site clearance.

Like Mau Son village, in the first days of this lunar new year, all people in Quyet Tam village were happy to receive compensation for site clearance to soon hand over clean land to the contractor of the Bac Giang golf course and resort project. Quyet Tam village has 182 households, of which 32 have land to be cleared for project implementation, with a total area of nearly 60,000sq.m. It was selected by the district and commune as the model village for this work. Village leaders reported that at present, nearly all of the households have agreed to receive compensation for site clearance and hand over land to the investor earlier than initially expected.

Mobilizing all resources

The Bac Giang golf course and resort project got the Prime Minister’s in-principal approval on June 15, 2020. Invested by Truong An Golf Joint Stock Company, it will be implemented in 36 months. On August 18, 2020, the provincial People's Committee approved a detailed construction plan on a total area of about 140 hectares, involving 350 households and individuals of three communes: Yen Son, Kham Lang and Chu Dien.

Chairman of the Luc Nam district People's Committee Dang Van Nhan said that the standing board of the district Party Committee and the district People's Committee have strengthened leadership and directed the participation of the entire political system, Party committees and authorities at all levels, Fatherland Front and mass organizations from district to commune and village levels in order to raise awareness among cadres, Party members and people about the role, significance and importance of the project to the overall development of the district. The district has determined the completion of the site clearance and compensation to hand over clean land to the investor and the construction unit on schedule as an important task of the heads of the Party committees, authorities, agencies and units.

According to Tran Van Ngoc, Director of the district Center for Land Fund and Industrial Cluster Development, the total area announced to be acquired in the first phase of the project is 132.99 out of 140 hectares. Currently, 119.01 hectares have been counted and site clearance compensation has been disbursed for about 70 percent of the total targeted households, ensuring the set plan.

With the above drastic measures, it is believed that the Bac Giang golf course and resort project will see clean ground provided for its investor soon, ensuring that it will be completed on schedule by 2023.
