The girl is truly interested in Biology with the knowledge closely attaching to the life, thus she usually asks for the teachers’ instruction to conduct several experiments on cell and tissue of simple species.
Acknowledging Linh’s special passion, her teachers encouraged her to participate in the provincial Technology Invention Contest and Technology Invention Contest for Youth and Teenager. Since the academic year 2017 – 2018, Linh has chaired and co-chaired three research topics winning high prizes at two above mentioned events.

In academic year 2017 – 2018, Linh won first prize at the provincial Technology Invention Contest with the topic “Researching the effect of purslane (Portulaca oleracea) extracted glue toward medical application” which also brought her third prize at the 14th Invention Contest for Youth and Teenager in Bac Giang in 2018.
Linh shared that: “I knew that my grandmother used to drink the purslane water to treat diarrhea. The plant grows naturally but it is hard to find out the purslane and easy to be mould under inappropriate storage. My grandmother must take a lot of the fresh plant to make a drink in order to treat the disease. Hence, I kept wondering to search for its effect to create a product. Then I discovered its effect to develop a new herbal source from traditional plant”.
In early morning, Linh and friends found the clusters of purslane in every corner of the school to gather a certain quantity then cut them into small sections, dry in a temperature of 50 – 60 degree Celsius for about half of a day. After that, the students crushed the plants into powder and kept them in cool place.
They tried to test the powder in 4 different solutions including boiling water, ethanol, methanol and acetone. After many failures, they succeeded to make purslane extracted glue which proved a good result when testing on mice. Only small amount can help inhibit E.Coli bacteria in diarrhea treatment.

Besides, Linh’s topic “Researching effect of liquid glue to reduce the lipid in the blood to treat lipid disorder in the blood in experimental mice” won second prize at the provincial Technology Invention Contest in the academic year 2017 – 2018 and the 15th provincial Invention Contest for Youth and Teenager in 2019.
Teacher Ngo Van Loi, Secretary of the School Youth Union, Chairman of the Youth Federation in Bac Giang High School for the Gifted said: “Khanh Linh is actively preparing for the upcoming national contest for excellent student in Biology. Though she is busy with the study, she still takes time to support the youth activities”.
