The community joins hands in supporting the poor
According to the Bac Giang provincial Fatherland Front Committee, from October 2017 to September 30, 2018, the whole province raised over 63 billion VND (2.7 million USD) for the Fund for the Poor and the social welfare programme.

Thanks to that, more than 57,400 Tet gifts were given to the poor. The fatherland fronts at all levels have paid attention to supporting poor households in building and repairing 816 houses worth over 16 billion VND.

As a member unit, the provincial Red Cross Society has collaborated with the fatherland fronts at all levels to carry out charity activities and provide medical examination and treatment for the poor.
According to Ma Thi Thin Nga, Chairwoman of the provincial Red Cross Society, due to disadvantages in terms of income and awareness, poor people’s access to health services is limited. To support them, since 2010, each year, the Red Cross Societies at all levels, in coordination with many medical establishments in and outside the province, have held more than 50 health examinations and consultations, and provided free medicine for about 10,000 poor, disabled and elderly people.
Helping poor people have a stable life
Tran Cong Thang, President of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, said that with the goal of "No one is left behind", the province aims to raise 45 billion VND (1.93 million USD) for the Fund for the Poor 2018 and the social welfare programme 2019.

Recently, the district mobilization board for the Fund for the Poor presented 20 million VND to the family of Nguyen Thi Loan (born in 1958) in Tan Ket village, Duc Thang commune to build a house. The condition of her family is very difficult. Her health is not good but she has to take care of her daughter and grandchildren who are often sick, with expensive treatment costs. Her house seriously degrades but she has no money to repair it.
For the campaign to achieve high results, the fatherland fronts at all levels in the province will continue to coordinate with agencies and member organizations to further promote communication work and attract the attention of local people, including those living and learning in other localities in the country and abroad. In particular, they will try to mobilize maximum resources to complete the goal of eliminating about 450 temporary and dilapidated houses for handover to the needy families before the Lunar New Year 2019.
