Strengthening moral and lifestyle education for younger generation

Creative and practical from the grassroots levels
At the beginning of March, the house of Nguyen Dang Sinh (92 years old) in Chinh Ngoai village, Quang Tien commune (Tan Yen) bustling with the sounds of excitement voice and laughter. Students from Nguyen Hong Junior High School are quickly cleaning the kitchen, yard and garden. In a short time, the students arranged the neat furniture, clean house. And lunch has been prepared.
Sitting around the green teapot, Sinh told students about the process of joining the Vietnamese resistance to French colonialism and Resistance War Against America. In addition to the regular schedule of visits twice a month, on important occasions, Tet festival, management board and students of Nguyen Hong Junior High School visited, encouraged and gave gifts to Sinh and his family.
From the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, Nguyen Hong Junior Secondary School’s Young Pioneer Organisation has instructed each union to help one person with meritorious services to the revolution. On holidays, students often visit and help these families. Through this activity, the students have learned the traditional history and fostered revolutionary ideals, training life skills.
In addition to Nguyen Hong Junior High School, 48 unions from other Young Pioneer Organisation of Tan Yen district’s primary and secondary schools have successfully implemented “Returning to Red addresses” movement. Accordingly, all grassroots of Young Pioneer Organisation registered to help families of people with meritorious services to the revolution by specific and effective work such as house cleaning, harvested agricultural products, present holiday and Tet gifts...
To promote and educate union members about revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyle, over the past years, Youth union and Department of Education and Training of Yen Dung district have coordinated to maintain organize the contest "I love Yen Dung’s history", " Young Tour Guides". According to Nguyen Thi Ha, leader of Tan An Elementary School and High School’s Young Pioneer Organisation, these competitions help students to develop teamwork skill, speech skill, contributing to promoting and introducing district's tourism potential and develop demonstration and travel guide skills.
The school also organizes various activities such as: Taking care of the Memorial site of Uncle Ho visiting Tan An commune, cleaning up martyrs' cemeteries and held the admission ceremony for new members of Youth union and Young Pioneer Organisation at the historical relics. These meaningful activities have contributed to the education about traditional and homeland history.

The education about revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyle for the younger generation have been identified as one of the main contents in the youth’s activities and movements by the Provincial Youth Union. Since 2015, the provincial Youth Union has implemented a program to coordinate the implementation of Directive 42-CT/TW by the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on “strengthening the leadership of the Party for revolutionary ideal, moral and cultural lifestyle education for younger generation in the period of 2015 - 2030".
The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union recognized 7 effective models and solutions in propaganda, education revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyle for youth. From 2016, Bac Giang Province’s Youth Union has launched the Internet contest about the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Communist Party and Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress with the theme "Lightening the Road - Youth Moving Forward".
The contest was divided into 6 sessions attracting more than 118 thousand members of Youth Union members. The province has 314 grassroots - units established and regularly updating the Facebook page to propagate the activities of the Youth Union and proactively capture information to orient public opinion.
Previously, revolutionary ideals education was only concentrated in a few localities which have favorable conditions, but now, this activity has been implemented in all-level with various forms suitable to the needs of the younger generation. The Youth Union of Lang Giang District launched a video clip contest to introducing Bac Giang’s historical relics and scenic spots; organized high school students, commune and town’s youth union members write the “Golden Book” diary; coordinated with military units to organize military experience activities.
Bac Giang City’s Youth Union and War Veterans' Association signed a cooperation program on strengthening education about revolutionary ideas, help young generation to start-up, making self-career and willing to protect the Fatherland...
According to Le Minh Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, the key task in education for the young generation this year is propagate, study Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Communist Youth Union and the 16th Congress of the Provincial Youth Union; effectively implement “good teaching, good learning” movement in studying and following ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh. In March, all-level of district’s youth union will hold the conference on study Resolutions for grassroots’ youth union officials.
Provincial Youth Union will organize the communication program "Good thing every day" and "Colours of Bac Giang"; hold a ceremony to honor provincial’s outstanding youth representatives. Provincial Youth Union will direct the district and city’s youth union to effectively maintain “Returning to red addresses” movement... These activities and experiences will contribute to traditional education, love homeland for the younger generation
