Strong efforts urged to build a Government of innovation, integrity, action, efficiency, serving the people
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made the statement while attending the first meeting of the 15th Government for the 2021-2026 tenure that was held virtually nationwide on August 11.

In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the meeting was important, aiming to reach agreement on key issues related to a Government of innovation, integrity, action, and efficiency, serving the people.
The meeting heard Government leaders briefing on 13 groups of central tasks and solutions of the 15th Government, implementing the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution and the 15th National Assembly’s Resolution on socio-economic development for 2021 – 2025.
In his speech offering guidance and orientations for the Government during its 2021 – 2026 tenure, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong stressed the need to prioritise the implementation of six key tasks and three strategic breakthroughs, dealing with “bottlenecks”, obstacles, and problems to develop the country faster and more sustainably on the basis of enhanced macroeconomic stability, developing science, technology and innovation, bringing into full play the country’s potential and advantages; restructuring the economy in association with growth model innovation, improving productivity, and the quality, efficiency and competitiveness of the economy.
Synchronous and effective solutions should also be implemented to overcome the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, quickly recover and develop the economy; strongly promote cultural value, the human strength of Vietnam and the creativity of each individual; step by step building an orderly, disciplined, safe, healthy, democratic, fair and civilised society; ensuring the peaceful and happy life of the people; as well as paying more attention to environmental protection and climate change, he noted.
The Party chief also underscored the need to strengthen national defence and security; resolutely and persistently fighting to firmly protect national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development; proactively and actively integrating into the world, improving the efficiency of foreign affairs and the position and prestige of Vietnam in the international arena.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his belief that the new Government will uphold the experiences and glorious traditions of the past 75 years, continuing to strongly innovate its organisation and operating methods, making a greater contribution to the Doi Moi (Renewal) process.
