Sweet fruit season lures visitors to Bac Giang

(BGO) – In this orange and pomelo season, Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) targets to welcome 100 to 120,000 tourists. The district has implemented various solutions to create impressive and fine images to the visitors near and far.

Tasting fruit in the garden

For recent days, numerous visitors have flocked to the farm of Nguyen Van Huu in Xe Cu village, Thanh Hai commune (Luc Ngan district) to experience orange and pomelo gardens. They had chance to take photo, taste free fruits and buy local signature products such as honey, Chu rice noodle, Kien Thanh wine, dried lychee among others as the gift.

The two-storey stilt house of 600 square meters, which was completed in last October with total cost of over 2 billion VND (80,900 USD), can meet various demand of visitors. Each floor of the house is equipped with bamboo tables, electric fans and mobile loudspeakers for singing passion, art and culture exchange. The facility can serve the tourists who wish to stay overnight.

With total area of nearly 28,000 hectares of various fruit tree, Luc Ngan district is well known as “fruit hub in the North”. In this orange and pomelo season, local authority thoroughly prepared conditions to welcome visitors. Instead of launching fruit fair as usual, this year the district organized Tourism Programme “To the sweet fruit land of Luc Ngan in 2022”, featuring many activities till the end of January 2023.

Together with displaying and introducing fruits at 10 booths in the central square, Luc Ngan district People’s Committee selected 5 typical tourism cooperatives and sites which connect to organize various activities to lure tourists.

This year, the district developed over 4,400 hectares of orange and pomelo with estimated productivity of nearly 52,400 tonnes of fruits. There are 29 tourism cooperatives in the area with tours to good fruit gardens, Am Vai pagoda, Cam Son lake, Khuon Than lake, Bac Hoa hamlet among others.

Few days ago, the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism chaired and cooperated with Luc Ngan district People’s Committee to conduct survey of garden tourism with the participation from 50 travel agencies, most of which are prestigious companies from Hanoi city.

Apart from fruit gardens, other tourism sites and areas receive due attention and investment from local authority, helping offer amazing experience to the tourists.

The Northeast Cultural Village Tourism Site in Chu town has welcomed about 7,000 visitors since November 2022, two third of whom came from other localities to enjoy unique dishes and culture.

“To attract visitors, we hire parking place of 1,000 square meters, invest in lantern and decorating light system around the lake, regularly clean up the environment and beautify the landscape. Normally, 8 receptionists and tour guides serve at the site but now we assign double number of staff and hope to welcome 20,000 visitors,” said Le Van Tien, Director of Northeast Cultural Village Tourism Site.

According to the data from community-based tourism cooperatives, since October, about 50,000 tourists have visited Luc Ngan district. The number of visitors is expected to sharply increase from now on till the end of December when it is the peak of sweet fruit season. The positive signal proves the attractiveness of Luc Ngan to the travel lovers. This year, the district targets to welcome 100 to 120,000 tourists.

To lure more visitors, in the upcoming time, Luc Ngan district People’s Committee directs to further select more site and advantage tourism products for investment, instruct the cooperatives to build tourism site with more experimental and entertainment activities to create a highlight and distinctive feature.

Vice Chairman of the district People’s Committee Truong Van Nam said in addition to promote and create signature tourism products, the district will focus on investing to infrastructure to serve tourism development, especially traffic, electricity, telecommunication, accommodation; enhance the tourism qualification and skill for local people, helping create job and increase the income for local labour while accelerating consumption and raising the value of farm produce to boost up local socio-economy.
