At the report on 10 years building new style rural areas, Duong Ngo Manh, Deputy Secretary of the district’s party committee, Chairman of the district’s people’s committee stressed, Tan Yen district started building new style rural areas at very low level (6.2 criteria per each commune over the district) including some difficult criteria requiring large investment such as transportation, cultural facilities and environment.

With high determination, Tan Yen has met the standards of a new style rural district after 10 years of implementation. Particularly, a number of criteria exceeded the regulated criteria.

For example, 1,215 kilometres of traffic road has been concreted (reaching 78.1 percent), the average value per a unit of cultivation reaches 152 million VND per year, per capita income is 41.26 million VND, equal to 13,799 USD per year (up 2.9 times compared to 2011).

Addressing the event, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Van Thai thanked the leaders of the central ministries and agencies for attending the ceremony and sharing the joys with the locality. 

He stressed, being recognized new style rural district and rewarded the Third Class Labour Medal are meaningful awards for Tan Yen district which show recognition of the Party and State for the great efforts of the party committee, government and people of Tan Yen district particularly and Bac Giang province generally,

This is a big encouragement and motivation for the district to continue striving for more significant achievements in coming time.

In order to reinforce the criteria and improving people’s quality of life, Duong Van Thai urged the district to continue propagating and raising awareness of building new style rural areas, not to feel satisfied with current results but have high sense of determination, make greater efforts and have more drastic actions with innovation and creativity.

At first, the district must immediately make plan and clarify specific itinerary to improve implementation quality of the criteria after meeting the standards tending to build advanced new style rural communes and district.

It is necessary to enhance implementation efficiency of the scheme on restructuring agricultural sector, foster joint venture and linkage models, expand effective economic models, develop the commodity value chains attached to processing and consumption, strengthen investment attraction in farm production and rural areas and well implement the “one commune, one product programme” to promote potentials and advantages of the locality and increase people’s income.

He requested other districts and city to learn good experience from Tan Yen to apply for the localities to continue boosting the movement of building new style rural areas in the entire province.

At the event, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh was authorized by the Prime Minister to hand over the Decision on recognizing new style rural district in 2020 to Tan Yen district.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Hai was authorized by the State President to give the Third Class Labour Medal to Tan Yen district for outstanding achievements in building new style rural areas.

On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded 1 billion VND (334,455 USD) and Emulation Flag to the officials and people of Tan Yen district, gave certificate of merit to 10 collectives and 10 individuals for outstanding achievements in building new style rural areas.
