After graduating from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities under the National University Hanoi, Nam volunteered to teach in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai. In 2013, he returned to his hometown and has taught at the Cam Ly High School since then. He is now a member of the school’s Party committee and head of the Geography, History and Civics group.
Nam said, as a student, through media, he knew that there was a shortage of blood banks for saving lives in most hospitals. One time, on the way from his hometown to Hanoi, he saw a traffic accident and he himself took the victim to the Bac Ninh General Hospital.
Then he was reported that the patient passed away because the hospital lacked blood and no one had the same blood type as him/her. Since then, the teacher has always thought that blood donation is a noble act to provide people with more opportunities to live.
He has enthusiastically participated in voluntary blood donation campaigns launched by organizations. Not only willingly donating blood, teacher Nam has actively persuaded others to join hands to save people. "Today we give our red blood drops, tomorrow we bring life to patients. Blood donation does not affect our health but helps our body become stronger" said Nam.
Thanks to the example of teacher Nam, the Cam Ly High School has set up a voluntary blood donation club, attracting many colleagues to join in. Whenever members of the club or their relatives in need of blood, they receive timely support. This is the first model in the province which is highly valued by authorities.
Teacher Nam's humanitarian activities have contributed to encouraging teachers, youth union members and students of the school to voluntarily donate blood, thus multiplying noble deeds.
