(BGO) – The Center of Culture,
Information and Sports of Bac Giang city joined hand with the Center of Culture
and Cinema in Bac Giang province and the People’s Committee in Hoang Van Thu
ward to organize the course to teach Cheo (traditional opera) and Quan ho (Love
duet) singing to the grass root art talents in 2019.
In 10 day course, the artists of the provincial Cheo Theatre and lecturers at Bac Giang Vocational School of Culture, Sports and Tourism instructed more than 30 participants who are core art members in Hoang Van Thu ward about basic techniques on Cheo singing, its origin and melodies, the manner and method to perform the Love duet songs as well as the exchange singing.

Completing the course, all participants were qualified with the requirement with 90 percent of excellent and good levels.
The concluding ceremony featured 11 Cheo and Love duet performances that were highly appreciated by the organization board and audiences.
Also, the core art talents help preserve and promote the traditional cultural values at the grassroots level.
Quan ho folk songs introduced at Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival

Teaching Cheo and Quan ho folk singing to the art talents

province of Bac Giang cooperated with the Center of Culture and Information in
Tan Yen district on May 8 kicked off the course to teach Cheo (traditional
opera) and Quan ho (Love duet) singing to more than 70 art talents in Phuc Hoa
commune (Tan Yen district).
