Thai blogger praises banh mi after Saigon trip
On Monday, Gukoiiz, a Thai beauty blogger with over 215,000 followers on TikTok, posted a series of photos from her trip to Vietnam last week on her Instagram account with over 60,000 followers, supposedly traveling with the Blackpink member. During the trip, model Diana Flipo also accompanied them.
Loaves of banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) are posted on Instagram account of Gukoiiz. |
The group was seen by Vietnamese fans eating banh mi at Tan Son Nhat airport before boarding the plane.
Gukoiiz expressed her love for the Vietnamese food and shared images of her loaves of banh mi stuffed with coriander, cucumber, pickled carrots, and daikon, and French condiments such as pate and mayonnaise.
"Vietnamese bread is very delicious. I want to fly back there to buy it. Does anyone have a banh mi address in Bangkok, please introduce it to me? Banh mi is very delicious. I really want to eat it," she wrote on Instagram.
Vietnamese fans quickly recognized the familiar brand through its distinctive wrapping paper.
Banh mi is a symbol of Vietnamese street foods and was last year named among 50 best-rated street foods in the world as compiled by international food magazine TasteAtlas.
Last week, photos of people who look like Lisa and her cousin shopping at fashion stores in HCMC's District 1 went viral on social media, sparking speculations the Blackpink member was returning to Vietnam two months after her performance tour in Hanoi.
As part of their world tour Born Pink, the four members of Blackpink stayed at the Capella Hanoi Hotel in Hoan Kiem District in late August. They enjoyed Vietnamese dishes like pho and banh mi at a Michelin-selected restaurant inside the hotel.
