Bustling crowds of tourists in major cities

In Hanoi, the number of international tourists and tourists from other provinces and cities visiting relics and entertainment venues increased dramatically.

At Tay Ho Palace (Quang An Ward, Tay Ho District), where the Mau Lieu Hanh (Mother Goddess Lieu Hanh) is worshiped, a representative of the relic management board said that from New Year's Eve until the end of February 1 (the fourth day of the new lunar year), an average of about 10,000 visitors were welcomed each day.

One of the largest tourist attractions in the capital is the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam.

Duong Ngoc Ha, representative of the Centre for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, said that from the 1st to the 3rd day of Lunar New Year, the relic welcomed about 70,000 visitors.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, during Lunar New Year, visitors to tourist areas, entertainment venues and services in the city are estimated at 2.1 million, an increase of 16.7% over the same period in 2024; of which international visitors during Lunar New Year are estimated at about 87,358, an increase of 16.5% over the same period last year.

During the Lunar New Year of the Snake in 2025, the city's tourist attractions attracted large numbers of visitors to come and have fun.

Dam Sen Cultural Park has launched several special programs to attract visitors during Lunar New Year. Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area also launched many new, strange and unique products and services, such as Tet Xuyen Khong — Journey to the origin of national culture, with new works and new games.

Cu Chi Tunnels Relic Area organised a cultural exhibition featuring art performances of the Xtieng ethnic group in Binh Phuoc Province along with Lion and Dragon dance performances, calligraphy, and folk games. The public museum system is open and free of admission for visitors from the first three days of Tet holiday.

Travel businesses in Ho Chi Minh City have prepared many new tourism products with competitive prices. Many travel companies also organize tours in conjunction with neighbouring provinces and cities.

According to the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, on the occasion of Tet 2025, the total number of visitors and tourists is estimated to have reached more than 469,000, an increase of 16.7% compared to the holiday in 2024; of whom, international visitors are estimated to account for more than 228,000, an increase of 29% over the same period in 2024.

Total tourism revenue is estimated to have reached 1,887 billion VND, an increase of 19.4% over the same period in 2024.

During the Tet holiday, thousands of tourists visited the attractions of the Hue heritage site. The favourable weather helped visitors fully enjoy the unique traditional performance program in front of Thai Hoa Palace. The space for royal and folk games also attracted visitors.

Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, said: This year, the relics managed by the unit applied the policy of free entrance tickets on the first day of Tet (instead of three days of Tet as before).

Although the weather on the first day of Tet was cold and rainy, the number of visitors coming to visit, travel, and experience the relic sites of Hue heritage was still very large.

On the second and third days of Tet, although there was no longer a free ticket programme, the visitors to Hue Imperial City were still bustling. In the first three days of Lunar New Year alone, Hue relic sites welcomed about 57,500 visitors.

Hue City Department of Tourism said that during Lunar New Year, the number of visitors to the locality is estimated at nearly 200,000, an increase of 35% over the same period in 2024; of which, international visitors are estimated at more than 62,000, an increase of 33%. Tourism revenue is estimated at 178 billion VND, an increase of 33% over the same period in 2024.

Bountiful tourists from all localities

During the Tet holiday 2025, the weather in Quang Binh is very nice. Most tourist attractions, cultural and historical relics are open to welcome tourists throughout Tet. Quang Binh Department of Tourism said that during the first four days of Tet, tourist attractions welcomed nearly 100,000 visitors, an increase of nearly 10% compared to Tet 2024.

According to reporters, in the first days of the new spring, in favourable weather, many people and tourists came to offer incense and visit spiritual and historical tourist attractions such as Hoang Phuc Pagoda — an ancient temple over 700 years old in Le Thuy District; Than Dinh Mountain in Quang Ninh District; the memorial temple of heroic martyrs on Road 20 Quyet Thang, Bo Trach District; and Princess Lieu Hanh Temple at the foot of Ngang Pass in Quang Trach District.

According to Deputy Director of Quang Binh Department of Tourism Dang Dong Ha, with careful preparation and special attraction from the majestic landscape, Quang Binh with the "heart" of the World Natural Heritage Phong Nha-Ke Bang continues to affirm its position as one of the top attractive destinations every time Tet and spring arrive.

In Kon Tum Province, the Lunar New Year 2025 tourist season coincides with the time when cherry blossoms bloom in Mang Den Town (Kon Plong District), attracting large numbers of tourists. The weather during Tet holidays in Mang Den is ideal with its cold climate, clear weather, and fog in the morning.

For this year's Lunar New Year, Mang Den Town organised cultural and artistic programs at two locations: Mang Den Market and Mang Den Night Market. The Mang Den tourist area currently has 139 accommodation establishments with 1,250 rooms; during Lunar New Year, all hotels and homestays reported "full rooms".

Bach Thi Man, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum Province, said that Kon Tum tourism has been building an image as a safe, friendly and hospitable destination, taking tourist satisfaction as a measure of service quality, and becoming an ideal destination for everyone and every family.

In Moc Chau Town (Son La), hotels and homestays were all fully booked, with nearly 19,000 visitors. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of the Moc Chau Town People's Committee, said the more than 320 food and beverage establishments and 250 tourist accommodation establishments in the town have also welcomed large numbers of visitors in recent days.
