US NGO presents scholarships to Thua Thien-Hue’s students

The central province of Thua Thien-Hue on August 20 received 303 scholarships worth over 2 billion VND (about 85,950 USD) granted to local students from the Pacific Links Foundation of the US.

The provincial study encouragement association will be responsible for distributing the scholarships.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the US non-governmental organisation donated more than 1.9 billion VND to provide scholarships for 271 students in Thua Thien-Hue.

Since the 2017-2018 school year, the Pacific Links Foundation joined hands with the study encouragement associations of nine provinces and cities to establish a Scholarship to Elevate Education and Development Skills (SEEDS) programme for students.

A self learning online page of the programme is being built to help local students study English.

German scholarships presented to Vietnamese students
The Hessen State Ministry for Science and Art (HSMSA) and the German World University Service (WUS) on May 28 granted scholarships to 21 outstanding Vietnamese students studying in several educational institutions in the northern provinces of Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang.
Scholarships presented to special difficult children
(BGO) – The Children Protection Foundation (CPF) in the northern province of Bac Giang has handed over 32 sponsorial scholarships and gifts in cash to the children living in special difficult circumstances, each worth over 2.1 million VND (90 USD).

Korean university grants scholarships to Vietnamese students
The Incheon National University (INU) of the Republic of Korea (RoK) and the Vietnamese Embassy signed a deal on scholarships for Vietnamese students on April 3.
Scholarships granted to poor students in coastal provinces
A ceremony to present scholarships to 110 ethnic minority students and children of poor fishing families took place in the south-central province of Binh Dinh on March 28.
