32 scholarships presented to disadvantaged students

Thirty two scholarships were presented to impoverished students who have excellent academic performances at the Hue University in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on April 16.

The scholarships, each valued at 150 USD, are sourced from the fund for education and social support. During the 2018-2019 academic year, the fund sponsors 9,600 USD for 32 standout students at the university. They will continue to receive the support until graduating if they have good studying results.

Scholarships granted to impoverished students who have excellent academic performances at the Hue University.

The fund has so far granted scholarships for 80 students in Thua Thien-Hue.

Besides, it has carried out a credit support programme for impoverished women in Phu Vang and Quang Dien districts and Huong Tra town, with a total outstanding debt of more than 2 billion VND (86,200 USD).

The fund for education and social support is a non-profit organisation established by the Vietnamese expatriates in the US in 2018, with the aim of improving livelihoods for needy people in Vietnam. The fund has carried out various projects to improve education, infrastructure and household business in Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang and Tien Giang.

(BGO) – The Red Cross Society (RCS) in the northern province of Bac Giang on November 3 cooperated with Hanoi based Kind Heart Foundation of VinGroup to present the scholarships to disadvantaged students in Yen The and Luc Nam districts.
