Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, provincial leaders visit, present gifts to policy beneficiary families, revolutionary contributors

(BGO) - On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947-2018), Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, member of the Party Central Committee and Vice President, visited and presented gifts to war invalids and ill soldiers at the care centre for war invalids in Lang Giang district and outstanding revolutionary contributors in Bac Giang city.

Accompanying her were representatives of the Presidential Office and the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs. Welcoming the delegation at the Office of the provincial People's Committee were Bui Van Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Linh, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; and Le Anh Duong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee

Visiting Heroic Vietnamese Mother Trinh Thi Lich (born in 1925), in the 2A residential area, Tran Nguyen Han ward; Quach Cao Bach (born in 1953), a seriously wounded soldier with the injury rate of 91 percent in the Tien Mon 2 residential area, Le Loi ward and the care centre for war invalids in Lang Giang district, Vice President Thinh expressed her deep gratitude for the devotion and sacrifice made by wounded soldiers, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs, contributing to the struggle for national liberation and unification. 

She affirmed that promoting the nation’s tradition of "when drinking water, remember its source", the Party, the State and the people have always cared for the lives of policy beneficiary families, war invalids, sick soldiers and people who rendered service to the revolution.

Inquiring after the families’ health and lives, Thinh encouraged the Heroic Vietnamese Mother and wounded soldiers to continue the revolutionary tradition, deserving the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh "wounded but not useless"; and asked their descendants to actively engage in production and building cultural life. 

She urged the agencies at all levels, localities, officials and staff of the care centre for war invalids in Lang Giang district to raise the sense of responsibility, continue care for and improve the quality of nursing in order to better the material and spiritual lives of war invalids, ill soldiers and families of policy beneficiaries in the locality.

On this occasion, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presented three gift boxes and 50 million VND to the centre, and gifted 50 seriously wounded soldiers who are under care here. At the same time, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Linh and Nguyen Sy Nhan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Bac Giang city, presented gifts to the Heroic Vietnamese Mother, wounded soldiers and the centre.

*Previously, Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Than Van Khoa visited and gifted two outstanding revolutionary contributors in Viet Yen district. Specifically, he presented gifts to Pham Thi Ngan (born in 1939), wife of martyr Nguyen Van Thuan in Hoang Mai 1 village, Hoang Ninh commune; and Le Van Quang (born in 1951), a victim of Agent Orange/dioxin in Ninh Khanh village, Nenh town. These are two typical households who rendered service to the nation. In particular, Le Van Quang’s wife died at the early age and he currently raises a daughter who is also infected with the toxic chemical.

Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Than Van Khoa presents gift to Le Van Quang in Ninh Khanh village, Nenh town.

* Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Council Tu Minh Hai visited and presented gifts to war invalids: Lai Van Thuan in Trung Son village, Duc Giang commune and Nguyen Van Nam in Ben village, Dong Viet commune (Yen Dung district).

* Le Thi Thu Hong, member of the standing board of the provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the committee’s inspection board, and head of the National Assembly deputy delegation of Bac Giang province, and leader of the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agibank)’s Bac Giang II branch visited and presented gifts, each worth 2 million VND, to policy beneficiaries in Tan Yen district. The recipients included Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Hang (born in 1930) in Quat Du 1 village; mother of martyr Nguyen Thi Chuc (born in 1918) and wounded soldier Tran Van Du (born in 1943) in Phuc Le village (Phuc Hoa commune); sick soldier Nguyen Hai Doi (born in 1948) in Kep Vang village, Lam Cot commune.

In addition to the four directly presented gifts, the delegation also gave three gifts to other people in the two communes.
