Vietnam assists Maldives in Covid-19 fight

Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Pham Thi Bich Ngoc on August 31 handed over US$20,000 as a gift from the Vietnamese Government to support the Government and people of the Maldives in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing the hand-over ceremony in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Ngoc highlighted the fine development of Vietnam-Maldives relations over recent times, as well as the significance of the sincere assistance offered by the Vietnamese Government and people to the Government and people of the Maldives.

For his part, Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Omar Addul Razak expressed his deep thanks for Vietnam’s significant aid.
The gift is not only material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement to the Maldives in this difficult pandemic period, he emphasised.
Health of 5 among 6 covid-19 patients in Bac Giang greatly improved
(BGO)- According to
information from the Department of Health of Bac Giang province and the National Hospital of Tropical
Diseases, Facility No 2, health condition of 5 patients in
the family with 6 Covid-19 infected cases in Yen Dinh commune, Son Dong
district have been stably improved.
Bac Giang: 2,717 people complete medical quarantine for Covid-19 prevention
(BGO) – Since the new outbreak of Covid-19
in Da Nang city (July 25), the quarantine sites controlled by the Military
Command in the northern province of Bac Giang have received 478 people, mostly
visitors and returnees from this hotspot.
Vietnam has conducted more than 1 million tests since beginning of Covid-19 pandemic
The Vietnamese health ministry said it has conducted more than one million PCR tests since the Covid-19 pandemic first began in late January.
