Bac Giang: 2 out of 6 Covid-19 patients recover
Currently, two patients are monitored at the post-treatment quarantine area in the National Hospital for Tropical Disease’s second branch in Dong Anh district (Hanoi).
The concentrated isolation site in Son Dong district. |
Patient 674 (mother of patient 673, 57 years old), patient 811 (wife of patient 673, 33 years old), patient 794 (son of patient 673, 2 years old) have good progress and stable health condition without any symptoms of fever, cough, breath difficulty.
Particularly patient 793 (father of patient 674, 58 years old) is still in worse progression and treated at the Intensive Care Department since August 15. He suffers from serious pulmonary lesions of 90 percent. Though his fever symptom and lung function are partially improved, he must rely on the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) .
The doctors detected the drug resistant bacteria in his body that limits the antibiotic selection for proper treatment. Previously, the doctors spent days on bacterial and fungal culture method to find out the specific cause to the infection status of the patient. This is a hard case for prognosis because only after ending ECMO support, the doctor could evaluate the index with good progress.
