Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee receives more aid for flood victims

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Hanoi chapter received the fourth tranche of donations worth over VND27.8 billion (US$1.2 million) on November 16 to support people affected by recent flooding in the central region.

Thus, after this fourth instalment of aid, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Hanoi chapter has received support in cash and goods worth over VND96 billion(US$4.1 million) from 140 organisations, enterprises and individuals.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Hanoi chapterhas sent VND13 billion (US$562,000) to local people hit by floods in the central region to help them overcome the consequences of the recent natural disasters.

Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Hanoi chapter Nguyen Lan Huong said that the committee will continue to send aid to flood victims in the central region after surveying and assessing the need of each locality to ensure efficiency and transparency.

*Samsung Vietnam has launched a fundraising programme to support people affected by recent floods in central Vietnam and has raised VND5 billion (US$216,000) from its staff and workers.

The financial support was handed over to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen chapter.

In addition, Samsung will provide free repair and maintenance for electronic products and provide 50% discount on costs of replacing genuine components for the electronic products of local people in the six flood hit provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, ThuaThien Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai until November 20.
