Khan Academy, a nonprofit organization with nearly 150 million users globally, offers free educational content in various subjects, standardized test preparation and soft skills courses.
Vietnamese users accumulated over 204 million minutes of study time on the platform last year.
Some 25,000 teachers at more than 5,300 schools received training to help students integrate digital platforms into their learning.
"This ranking reflects the positive transformation in teaching and learning approaches in Vietnamese schools," Khan Academy said, adding that online learning and the application of technology in education are expected to keep growing in Vietnam.
A similar trend was observed on Coursera, the world’s largest online learning platform with 162 million users, where more than 1.4 million Vietnamese had enrolled by mid-2023, four times the pre-Covid number.
Khan Academy’s learning model focuses on personalized study paths, allowing users to progress at their own pace until mastering a subject.
In Vietnam, courses have been localized and made freely available through the Vietnam Foundation to cater to a broader range of students.
