Vietnam's top lawmaker Hue to pay official visit to China
Vietnam's National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will pay an official visit to China from April 7-12, according to the assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee.
The visit will be made at the invitation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China Zhao Leji, the committee said in an announcement on April 4.

China is the first country to establish diplomatic relationship with Vietnam, on Jan. 18, 1950, and has been its largest trade partner for many years. Vietnam is China's largest trade partner in Southeast Asia.
Bilateral trade reached US$171.9 billion in 2023 and $27.3 billion in the first two months this year, up 28% year-on-year, including $7.95 billion worth of Vietnam's exports, according to Vietnam Customs.
China's President Xi Jinping visited Vietnam in December 2023, his third visit to the neighboring country as the leader of Chinese state and Communist Party.
During the visit, Vietnam and China issueda joint statementon continuing deepening and elevating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, and building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
