Colab, under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, also dispatched 85 interns to Japan and 70 nurses to Germany in 2021.

Colab sent more than 1,100 Vietnamese workers to work abroad in 2021.

According to Colab’s Deputy Director Pham Ngoc Lan, the centre is implementing 5 programmes to send Vietnamese workers abroad to four markets, namely the RoK, Japan, Germany and Taiwan (China).

Within the framework of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s visit to the RoK in mid-December, the labour ministers of both countries agreed to consider re-signing an agreement on labour and employment cooperation.

Amid the complicated developments of Covid-19 in Vietnam and the world, Colab has worked with the relevant agencies to effectively organise the task of worker selection, training, dispatch, management and support.

To date, no Vietnamese workers have been found to have contracted the disease upon entry or during the quarantine period after entry.

The RoK agreed to resume receiving Vietnamese workers after more than a year of suspension due to the pandemic.

The northeast Asian country is Vietnam’s second largest labour export market, with about 10,000 Vietnamese workers currently working there.

Number of guest workers to Republic of Korea increase
