He also asked that issues and challenges in certain projects be solved to promote the recovery of an effective, sustainable tourism market between the two nations.

Gang said China considers its relationship with Vietnam to be an important priority in its diplomatic policies.

He expressed his wish for both countries to continue expanding economic cooperation as well as collaboration in cultural exchange, education and tourism.

Regarding maritime issues, both countries have agreed to continue abiding by agreements while maintaining a peaceful, stable environment in the region. Son asked both countries to uphold international law, including the United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

China has been Vietnam's largest commercial partner for many years, while Vietnam is China's largest partner in ASEAN. The two countries' bilateral trade turnover in 2022 reached $175.6 billion, in which Vietnamese exports accounted for $57.7 billion, according to the Vietnam Customs.
