Viettel FC earn five-star victory at AFC Champions League
The Hanoi club dominated throughout 90 minutes of the game on Pathum Thani Stadium in Thailand. They had possession of 60 percent and made 19 shots with seven on target, while Kaya could only get four shots on target.

Viettel found the net right at the second minute of the game with an accurate finish into the far corner by Nguyen Hoang Duc. Only five minutes later, Nguyen Trong Hoang set up for Caique Lemes to score the second goal for Viettel.
With a safe distance, Viettel slowed down their tempo but still caused Kaya a lot of problems. Only three minutes into the second half, Bui Tien Dung made it 3-0 with a comfortable header from a corner.
In the 61st minute, Caique completed his brace as he sprinted into the box and finished strong to score the fourth goal for Viettel. The rain of goals only stopped when the substitution Vu Minh Tuan scored from a long- range shot four minutes later.
The victory helped Viettel climb to second in group F with three points after two games. In the last match, they suffered an unfortunate 0-1 loss against ACL defending champions Ulsan Hyundai due to a last-minute own goal. On July 2, the club will face Thai champions BG Pathum United.
This is Viettel’s first participation ever at an ACL edition. The V. League 2020 champions are Vietnam’s only representative in this tournament.
