VTV int’l volleyball cup to gather seven competitors
The aforementioned information was announced by the organising committee during a recent press conference in Hanoi.

Vietnam have been drawn to play Kazakhstan’s Altay Oskemen Club and Chinese Taipei University in Group A. Meanwhile, Group B consists of Japan’s NEC Red Rockets Club, China’s Fujian Club, and two teams from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Australia.
The participating teams will play in a round robin format to decide the two group winners, who will progress to the semifinals.
The second-place team of Group A will meet the third-place finishers of Group B, and vice versa, in the quarterfinals, with the two winners advancing to the semifinal round.
The overall champions will receive the trophy and US$10,000 in prize money, while respective stakes of US$7,000, US$5,000 and US$2,000 will be awarded to the next three finishers.

In addition to the collective prizes, the organising committee will present individual prizes, including “most comprehensive player”, “best outside hitter”, “best middle blocker”, “best setter”, “best opposite”, “best libero”, and “Miss Volleyball”.
All 17 matches of the VTV Cup will be broadcast live on the channels of VTV6, VTV5 and the VTV Sports mobile app.
In last year’s tournament, the Vietnam women’s national team were crowned champions after brilliantly outclassing a team from the DPRK with a score of 3-0 in the final match (25-14, 25-19, 25-15).
