The festival was launched in April 4, 2020 under the theme ‘Love and Life’ by the Hanoi Association of Photographic Artists. It attracted around 1,550 entries in two categories of single photos and the photo collections of 267 contestants.

The organising board selected a total 103 outstanding entries to introduce to viewers at an online exhibition at http://vapa.org.vn and http://www.lienhoananhkhuvuc.vn.

There were no gold medals for this year's festival. Two silver medals went to ‘Binh An Cho Con’ (Peace for the Newborn) by Nguyen Thu Hong and ‘Cu Bat Cao Tren Thanh Go’ (A High Jump over a Wooden Bar) by Pham Thi My Hanh.

Three bronze medals and five consolation prizes were also awarded to other outstanding submissions on the occasion.

Outstanding press photos honoured

The second Press Gala 2020 and the awards ceremony for “Press Moments 2019” were held by the Nha Bao Va Cong Luan (The Journalist and Public Opinion) Newspaper under the auspices of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA).
