Tapping the forestry and hill advantages, Yen The district has focused on developing and building “Yen The hill chicken” with total stable herd of 3.5 – 4 million heads, annual supply of 10 – 12 million chickens to the market, average revenue of 1,500 billion VND (60.7 million USD) per year (accounting for 60 percent of livestock sector in the district).

Yen The is the first localities in the North to achieve safety area from avian influenza and Newcastle disease. Also, the district has famous for goat herd under recognized collective brand “Hong Ky mountain goat” which helps increase the local income.

Besides, there are several popular products like Ven village green tea and late ripening longan. The district has 23 products under One Commune One Product programme (OCOP) at provincial level, most of which are processed from chicken such as chicken paste, chicken sausage and chicken patties among others.

Particularly in 2022, Culture Ecotourism in Ven village was rated as three star OCOP product. It is first ever tourism product in Bac Giang province to be rated as OCOP standard.

Wood and wood processing products from planted forest are among the local strength. The district has cooperated to implement the project “Developing Yen The district as center of forestry seedling production in Bac Giang province”.

Moreover, Yen The has built and developed several farm produce, herbal products and citrus fruit trees.

Quality and food safety is first criteria

On this occasion, the Vice Chairman of provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Phan The Tuan congratulated the results achieved by the district. He affirmed that: “Bac Giang defines agriculture as the support for the economy. Thus, the province and Yen The district have paid due attention and investment to this sector and gained positive results”.

The provincial leaders witness the signing ceremony of cooperative agreement for consuming farm produce in Yen The district.

To further promote the advantage of well known farm produce region with high quality and expand both domestic and foreign markets, the provincial leader ordered local authority to well implement several contents such as delivering consistent and thorough leadership, taking quality and food safety as the criteria for sustainable production and consumption to create strength and firm position in the market; strictly cooperating with relevant agencies to actively connect and promote the consumption, diversify the market to widely introduce the farm produce to the customers.

The district was directed to accelerate tourism activity with farm produce promotion; create new tourism products to attract visitor via ecotourism, expediture; promote and consume key and signature products and OCOP products to community in and outside the province.

PPC Chairman informed that Bac Giang is highly focusing on livestock production to prepare safe farm product with high quality to the market, satisfy the consumption demand in the last months of 2022 and Lunar New Year holiday 2023. The province committeed to creating the most favourable condition to support the business and tradeperson who come to invest, buy and process local agro-forestry products.

He suggested central ministries and sectors and provinces to continue assisting Bac Giang province in general and Yen The district in particular to boost up selling farm produce on their distribution channels; launch various trade exchange events; build geological identification for commodity goods; actively connect to seek new market with export potential in order to enhance the consumption of local farming products.

At the event, Yen The district announced the safe area from avian influenza and Newcastle disease for local hill chicken while the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development handed over the Certificate of disease safety to 19 local communes and towns.

The district People’s Committee inked the cooperative agreement on consuming local key farm produce with the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang, Hanoi, Ha Nam, Hai Duong, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen and Hoa Binh provinces; consumption cooperation among the farming cooperative and some businesses as well as cut the ribbon to depart the fleet of trucks selling local hill chicken and goat.

Bac Giang supports to sell farm produce on e-commercial platform

(BGO) – After years of negotiation, Toan Cau Food Import Export Joint Stock Company in Luc Ngan district (Toan Cau Food) (Bac Giang province) has successfully exported first batch of over 30 tonnes of soya bean to the US which brings happiness to local farmers because they now can expand the production to gain high income from this crop.

China pilots to import farm produce via Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No.2 (Lao Cai)
