100% Hanoians to get access to clean water by 2020
The city will focus on accelerating the construction and upgrade of four water supply projects in 2018. |
The target was pursuant to a plan which has recently been signed by Chairman of Hanoi municipal People's Committee, Nguyen Duc Chung, which defines specific tasks on the development of the city's clean water system by 2020.
Under the plan, the city will focus on accelerating the construction and upgrade of four water supply projects in 2018 including the construction of the Duong Noi - Ha Dong water plant, the expansion of the Bac Thang Long - Van Tri water plant, the construction of a water supply system of the Duong River water plant (first phase) and the construction of the Da River water plant (second phase).

In addition, seven water supply projects are expected to be completed in the 2019-2020 period which will jointly provide more than 1 million m3 of water per day.
The authorities will also consider the approval of investment projects on developing water supply networks for communes which have not yet built water supply stations.
