The inventors said the Faculty used the wired alarm device in the past, causing many difficulties in installation and reparation due to the bulky system, long wire, frequent damage, low rate of accuracy with an expensive cost, especially the inter-building connection.

“It is still a new concept to program and design an alarm under micro control and RF transmit instead of old style with a long wire. Therefore, we spent time researching the present system not only to alarm the time but also provide our students with deeper understandings about RF transmit technique”, shared To Van Son.

The alarm system consists of the alarm, receiver and major components such as the source, central driver, RF transmitter, module (functional component in computing software), data display and bell. The system hardware and software were designed by the inventors.

To activate the device, the user would set up the expected parameters like alarm hour, period and time which are indicated in the electronic screen. The alarm device transmits all setup data to the receiver via RF and the alarm will ring as expected. Additionally, the system is able to update the set parameters automatically in case the electric is out.

The system is pretty suitable for the agencies and school, helping to cut down the alarm installation cost. Especially, it plays a meaningful step, respecting to auto control sector, to find out the perfect combination of programming and designing the crucial double-sided printed circuit board.

Currently, the alarm system has been applied to the college’s lecture relating to the electronic micro board, micro driver and component. The device also won the third prize in the provincial technical invention contest 2017.
