Notably, most of the team’s bright performers in the national cup were young faces, including some aged between 14-16, such as 16-year-old Phi Thanh Thao (gold medal, mixed 10m air rifle) and 14-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Phuong (gold medal, women’s 50m rifle prone).
Hai Duong Province’s delegation came in second place grabbing four golds, six silvers and one bronze, followed by the Ministry of Public Security team with three medals of each colour.
The annual tournament, held by the Vietnam Shooting Federation, brought together 165 shooters from 13 cities, provinces and sectors nationwide who vied for medals in individual and team events for both men and women. With 47 entrants, the Army team represented the largest number of athletes.
