Accordingly, Nguyen Thi Oanh in Bac Giang provincial track and field team won the first ranking with 846 points and topped the poll conducted among the sports journalists.

Bac Giang’s athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh takes the top position at the poll for 2019 most outstanding athlete.

The swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien of Military sports delegation secured the second position with 772 points while athlete Nguyen Huy Hoang of Quang Binh province rank third.

Orther outstanding athletes included football players Nguyen Quang Hai and Do Hung Dung; Bac Giang’s female wrestler Vuong Thi Huyen and tennis player Ly Hoang Nam.

Among the coaches honored were Mai Duc Chung (national women’s football), Tran Van Sy (track and field team in Thanh Hoa province), Nguyen Hoang Vu (swimming team in Can Tho province).

The titles of most outstanding athletes and coaches are the precious reward to the athletes winning excellent achievements and the coaches greatly contributing to the general achievements of the high performance athletes at the national and international competitions bestowed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Sports Administration and Vietnam Olympic Committee.

Bac Giang’s athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh breaks SEA Games record at 3000 meter steeplechase event

(BGO) – At 16h30 (Vietnam time) on December 10, track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh (Bac Giang province) excellently won the gold medal at 3000 meter steeplechase event with an achievement of 10 minutes two milliseconds at the ongoing 30th SEA Games.

Since nearly four months prior to the regional sports festival, the Bac Giang born athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh has spent utmost effort on  securing the gold medals that she gained two years ago.
